From Plankton to Penguins: Conducting oceanographic research along the Antarctic Peninsula
Tricia Thibodeau, Assistant Professor in the School of Marine and Environmental Programs, recently returned from a 5-week research cruise to Antarctica in January 2026 aimed at linking sea ice melt to biogeochemistry and planktonic organisms in the Weddell Sea, Antarctica. She will share her experience of planning and executing a successful oceanographic research cruise as well as plenty of photos and videos of the landscapes and wildlife she saw along the way.
